Q.
What size slide do we need?
A.
The length of the service staircase has no bearing on the length
of the slide required. Slide lengths are matched to the type of
aircraft that use the gate. Please reference our sizing chart in
the SOLUTIONS section of our web page. |

Q.
Can we attach the base of the slide to the staircase?
A.
No! The pivot point for the slide is different, by design, than
the pivot for the staircase. Therefore, the two move up and down
at different rates. The one sure way to crush the staircase, the
slide, or both is to attach the two together at the base. |

Q.
What must be done for hurricane preparedness?
A.
Follow the bridge manufacturers' directions for hurricane preparedness.
In addition, chain or strap the base of the slide to the tarmac.
Generally, the bridge manufacturers prescribe chaining the staircase
to the tarmac and often tie-down points are built into the tarmac
for such purposes. If the staircase is chained down to the tarmac,
it is then OK to chain the base of the slide to the staircase for
the duration of the preparedness. However, the chains or strapping
must be removed before the bridge is put back into service. |

Q.
What maintenance is required for the AGE Smart Slide.
A.
Keep the stainless steel slider bed cleaned to remove sticky materials
such as soda-pop and once every 6 months put a shot of grease the
casters. Included in our web page is a page showing where the fittings
are located. |

Q.
What can be done if baggage is not sliding all the way to the bottom
of the slide?
A.
There are two possibilities to consider. One, is there sticky debris
on the slide such as spilled soda pop? If so, it needs to be washed
away. Two, is the slide to long for the application? Please refer
to the sizing chart here at
our web site. The AGE Smart Slide is modular by design, and can be easily
shortened or lengthened. |
